FAQs

How Do I Clean My Placemat?

Placemats should be wiped clean using a soft cloth. The use of mild detergent, such as washing up liquid, can be used if required however you should not use anything abrasive such as scouring pads. We also recommend wiping spilt food from your placemats before it dries - it's easier and it will prolong the life of your mats!

Are Little Wigwam Placemats Safe For Young Children?

Absolutely! Our placemats are made in Great Britain and comply fully with British safety legislation including toy safety regulation EN71, which means the inks and lacquers on the mat are safe for use by children - there are no toxins, no thalides, no heavy metals and no PVC! The mats are finished with a smooth edge and rounded corners for added safety. We would never sell anything that we wouldn't be happy for our own kids to use - our kids use Little Wigwam placemats every day!

Should I Buy A Placemat Or Poster That Is Recommended For Older/Younger Children?

The recommended ages we show against the placemats and posters are just there as a guideline - all the designs have a very wide range of age appeal, and there is no "right" or "wrong"... different children like different things at different ages! (You'd be surprised how many Dads order an extra Solar System poster by "mistake" for their office :-)

Are Your Placemats And Posters Just Laminated Paper?

No, absolutely not! Unlike the cheap, flimsy, laminated-paper mats you can find elsewhere (if you look in the wrong places!), Little Wigwam's quality placemats are made from a hard-wearing material called polypropylene. Not only that, our mats are printed directly onto the polypropylene and then coated in a special non-reflective, UV-resistant, child-safe lacquer - so your mat won't fade, and your kids can easily read their mats rather than struggling with the glare of lights!
Our posters are made from a thinner version of the same material which makes them wipe-clean and tear-resistant!

So What Are Your Targets Made From?

Polypropylene, just like our placemats! This means they are hard-wearing and can be used outdoors as they are water-resistant unlike paper targets.

What Is Polypropylene?

Polypropylene is a very eco-friendly, non-toxic material which is 100% recyclable - please see our Green page for further details.

Where Are Your Products Made?

Our placemats, posters and targets are made right here in the UK, our games are made in the UK and EU, and our jigsaws and flash cards are made in the EU! We don't believe in manufacturing products in Asia and shipping them half-way round the world before selling them - not only is the quality better in the UK and EU but it's much more environmentally friendly too...

So Are You An Environmentally-Friendly Company?

Yes, please check out our Environmental Policy page for details.

Is My Height Chart Made Of Paper?

No! All Measure Me! height charts (and door frame height charts) are made from a durable plastic material called polypropylene which is 100% recyclable and tear-resistant! It is also wipe-clean so you can safely wipe clean any mucky fingerprints :o)

What's The Best Way To Record Heights On My Height Chart?

We recommend using permanent marker pens such as Sharpies. Biros, water-based felt-tips and pencils should not be used as they will not write properly on the height chart material.

My Height Chart Stays Curled Up, How Do I Use It?

Simply roll your height chart back the other way - this will flatten it out ready for use.

How Do I Fix My Height Chart To The Wall Or Door Frame?

This is really a matter of personal preference - as our height charts are very light,we recommend using a product like Blu-Tac as you can then move or take down the height chart without damaging it.

Can I Buy Little Wigwam Products Outside The UK?

We ship to most of the EU and North America from our website but if you are based somewhere else and want our products, please contact us and we'll help if we can!

What Are Your Delivery Charges?

We offer various shipping methods depending on the weight of your basket, and remember in the UK if you spend over £30 the cost is £0.00 (48 Hour Tracked Royal Mail service).

Little Wigwam doesn't see or store payment details, though you can do that with our payment providers.
